The Tribe Audiobooks - How to Listen

The Tribe audiobook dramatizations

There are several ways to listen to The Tribe audiobook dramatizations (narrated by several of the original cast members) which are now available exclusively to Tribeworld as a pre-release through Shopify, starting with The Tribe: A New World (equivalent of season 6 of The Tribe in story terms), prior to the official global publication in January 2021.

The first of the audiobook dramatizations - The Tribe: A New World (Season 6 equivalent) is currently available as a high-quality MP3 digital download here through The Tribe's Shopify store - and can be listened on a variety of devices including Windows, Mac, iOS, iPad, Android and more!

As an alternative the audiobook can be streamed or downloaded separately through Vimeo.

Mac, Windows and Chrome

Just download the audiobook to your laptop, PC or notebook and the MP3 file can be played back on a wide variety of music and media players of your choice from iTunes to Quicktime player, Windows Media player and Spotify amongst many other options.

Smart speakers, Chromecast, assistants, smart TVs, the car!

After downloading the MP3 file to your device (like a smart phone or tablet), you can explore options to share the file on other connected devices including Alexa, Chromecast, Google Nest or Google Home, and cast or airplay to your TV.  Or hear the 11.5 hour drama on the move (or in a traffic jam) in your car by connecting your smart phone to your car's inbuilt stereo speakers!

iOS iPhone and iPadOS Tips

Option 1 - Download the file to your Windows or Mac laptop/desktop/PC (if you have one as well) and then transfer to iPhone or iPad to listen on iTunes/Apple Music

After purchasing the audiobook you will be emailed a link to download (as well as seeing the link in the checkout).  Download the file to your laptop or other PC.

You can then sync or manually transfer the file to your iPhone or iPad through a USB cable.  A good way to do this is to import the file into your iTunes library and then from there you can drag and drop or sync the file from your laptop/PC iTunes library into the iTunes or Apple Music library of your iPhone or iPad device, which should enable the file to be heard on your iPhone and/or iPad device from within iTunes or Apple Music.

For further information on iOS and IPadOS linking, check out Apple's support website.

Option 2 - Download the file to your iOS or iPadOS device and then use VLC for Mobile app to listen

You can download the Audiobook MP3 file to your iOS or iPad device. There is a good media player called VLC for Mobile, based on the cross-platform VLC media player, that can enable you to hear the audiobook file on your iPhone or iPad outside the iTunes or Apple Music apps (which require Option 1 above).

There are several ways to import the Audiobooks MP3 file into VLC for Mobile (for fuller documentation check out the VLC Mobile support pages) including:

a) You can download the file to your iPhone or iPad (Save to Files) and when the download is complete it should be saved in your Files in the 'On My Phone' folder (or wherever you choose to save it to on your device).  You can then move the file to the VLC Folder on your Files (after you have installed VLC for Mobile) and then open and play the file in your VLC for Mobile app! :)

and/OR

b) You can save the file to your laptop or PC and then copy/sync to your iPhone or iPad and drag it directly into VLC on your iPhone or iPad.  One the file is copied to your device you can then listen to it on your iPhone or iPad in VLC.

and/OR

c) You can save the file to your iPhone or iPad (such as to the Files or iCloud Drive).  From there you can then upload to a Cloud service like Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, Box or iCloud.  And from there, within the VLC for Mobile app on your iPhone or iPad, in the Network section of VLC you can connect VLC Mobile to your preferred Cloud service and then import the file from your Cloud service (like Google Drive or Dropbox) into VLC for playback on your device.  If you are ever low on space, you can even stream the file from your Cloud service and stream it to VLC to give even more options! :)

Option 3  - Spotify.

If you're a premium member of Spotify there are options to play local files on your iOS iPhone or iPad device, for more info visit https://support.spotify.com/us/article/listen-to-local-files/

Option 4  - Native iOS player

If you download the audiobook MP3 file to your device, you should also be able to play the file from within your iOS or iPad device using the built-in media player on your iPhone or iPad
